I remember that in my dream I was with my ex-boyfriend. I don't remember if I was still with him or if we'd split up or got back together. Anyway, at one point there were one or more snakes a little further away. I went straight for cover to protect myself and instead of doing the same thing, despite my requests, Eliot decided to try and capture the snake. I told him to be careful, to close the snake's mouth tightly when he picked it up to not hurt the snake nor let the snake bite him. Of course, he got bites by the snake. But instead of worrying like me, he was pretty cool and even laughing about it. Then, he ran after me with the snake. While still holding the tail of the snake, he throw it to me to scare me. I decided to not move to trust him but the snake touched me and even bite me too. I was fed up and disappointed and the bite scared me and woke me up
Dreams about relationships, especially involving ex-partners, can often reveal unresolved feelings or thoughts about the past. In this particular dream, the presence of your ex-boyfriend, Eliot, suggests that you're navigating emotions tied to your past relationship. This could indicate a longing for closure or clarity regarding the feelings you still harbor for him.
The snakes in your dream symbolize various underlying tensions or fears, often associated with danger, transformation, or healing. Their presence shows that there are unsettling aspects of your relationship or personal life that need to be confronted. Your instinct to hide and seek protection from the snakes might indicate your desire to safeguard yourself from emotional pain or betrayal, reflecting anxieties rooted in your past experiences.
Eliot's differing approach to the snakes highlights a clash in perspectives. His nonchalance towards the danger might suggest how he has navigated the relationship differently than you have. While you express concern for both him and the snake, wanting to protect both, he seems to demonstrate a more reckless attitude, possibly indicating a gap in emotional maturity or understanding that may have existed in your relationship.
The act of him attempting to capture the snake against your warnings signifies issues of trust and communication in your connection. His laughter after being bitten could symbolize his tendency to downplay problems, perhaps mirroring how you felt during your time together when issues were not taken seriously. When he throws the snake at you—despite your agreement to trust him—it represents a betrayal of your trust. While you chose to remain still, trusting Eliot, the experience of being bitten signifies the painful consequences of that trust misplaced.
Waking up from this dream in a state of fear and disappointment shows that there are lingering anxieties about past relationships and perhaps a recognition that risks taken (in love or friendship) can lead to emotional pain. The dream may also be an invitation to reflect on how you handle trust and emotional safety in your current or future relationships.
Overall, the dream serves as a reflection of past grievances and invitations for introspection about how you navigate trust, fear, and emotional connections. It may be time to analyze whether you are still carrying around those feelings of disappointment and how they may be influencing your current relationships or decision-making.
